Leadership classes learn about State Government

From education to economic development, highways to healthcare, State Government plays an integral role in our daily lives. The Haywood County Adult and Youth Leadership classes boarded a bus to Nashville Thursday, March 9, for Leadership's annual trek to our state capitol. They met with Lt. Gov. Wilder, Representative Jimmy Naifeh, Asst. Tenn. Supreme Court Justice Adolpho Birch, and viewed proceedings at the Senate and House. The Leadership classes leave Nashville with a better understanding of how State Government affects us at home, and how we can be more active participants in government at the state level. Leadership Board members who coordinated the day in Nashville were Lisa Lewis and Kathy Ward, Adult Leadership; and Allan Callery, Youth Leadership.
